i went to ww2 re-enactment this weekend :3
it was a lot of fun. seeing tanks and artillery fire never gets old ! it's always cool to chat with veterans and others who are passionate about history. it's also an excuse for me to wear my awesome nam gear >:3 everyone was so nice and we got to hang out with our friend adrian, who always has the best uniforms ^_^ it's also a great place to buy surplus. this year i bought a ww2 navy crackerjack uniform and (what i was MOST excited for...) my first real iron cross >:3 i got a reallllyyyyy good deal on a ww1 2nd class iron cross ^_^ a real iron cross was something i wanted for my collection for a long time. it's just my favorite medal aesthetically... it originally wasn't even a nazi symbol. it was originally a symbol of military honor :3 isn't it crazy that you can own this stuff ? my medal is over 100 years old. i feel like this stuff should be in a museum. next i would like to get a ww2 iron cross but those are SO much more expensive T_T... i would like to have a huge ww2 collection someday. i think preservation is so important !! after the re-enactment we went to the beach and it was so nice. it was rainy and cold like last year, but i didn't mind because that means the waves were huge. i felt like a seal jumping into the waves. i had so much fun. yes my boots gave me huge blisters. i can't wait to do it all over again next year... next year i would love to have some type of complete uniform to wear.˖꩜

i really hope this goes without saying, but in NO WAY do i support nazism or align with those beliefs. i just love history, uniforms, and think preservation is super important :3
